Abstract: When the procedurally correct application of law leads to unfair results, a procedural justice focus has little to offer beyond the generalization that people care more about procedures and the suggestion that authorities should redirect public attention from the result to the method. The most fundamental assumption in psychological jurisprudence is that law is intended to promote human welfare.
