Abstract: What Wittgenstein means by analysis generally understood can best be seen by contrasting it with 'explication'. The Tractatus has a 'therapeutic intent' to bring the reader to see the hopelessness of traditional philosophy and its problems. There are features of reality, or of languages's relation to reality, that cannot be expressed because the logical structure of language makes their expression impossible.
